The trip gave these budding hospitality pros a look into the day-to-day operations of some of the city’s busiest destinations while offering a hands-on approach to the field these students hope to be working in soon.
“Our laboratory really is the hotels [and] the restaurants,” says Dr. Mark Newton, GTC program director. “So what we try to do is get out of the classroom and make students aware of all the different opportunities there are in Atlanta.”
From interview tips to real-world job contacts, each student in attendance was able to bring home a wealth of knowledge to help them land jobs in the industry.
